I purchased this as a gift for a 5 year old boy (along with a 12" Toy Story tricycle). The gift was a hit!
The helmet is sturdy, but also very light. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of both the pads and the helmet. I ultimately came back to buy the Dora helmet/pad set as well.

This product does not fits well in my four-year-old son, it is just too large. I changed the inner pad by a thicker one that came along with my own helmet and made in adjust better. It is also too heavy and the external size too large as well. I believe it is more of a toy than a protective gear.

The helmet was solid and heavy and seemed liked it would provide excellent protection. The kneepads were a little flimsier, but adequate and apparently well-constructed. Problem was, the helmet was huge, whereas the kneepads were somewhat tight. My 3-year old is very tall for her age (about the size of the average 4- or 5-year-old) and the helmet still didn't fit. Even on the tightest setting, where the strap was practically compressing her mouth shut, the helmet slid around on her head. Moreover, my daughter is in the slim-to-normal range as far as weight, yet the kneepads were a little too snug. In short, nice quality helmet, but sized way too big; average kneepads, and undersized.
